In the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Cañon City, St. Thomas More Hospital is the area's cornerstone for health care services. The hospital plays a pivotal role in this rural community by providing 24-hour emergency and acute care to Fremont County residents, neighboring communities and visitors. St. Thomas More provides surgery for general, bariatric and orthopedic procedures, and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission.

In addition, St. Thomas More Hospital became the first Southern Colorado facility to offer gastric lap-band surgery for weight loss. We offer Osteopathic Treatment Center for issues including musculoskeletal pain, acute and chronic conditions and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

Completed in spring 2006, St. Thomas More underwent a major expansion project that  provided new surgery suites and patient rooms, a new intensive care unit and a new Health & Wellness Center.
