Alex Romero, MD

Dr. Alex A. Romero, a Pueblo, CO native, returned home after completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship with the Santa Monica Orthopedic Sports Medicine Group in Santa Monica, CA. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He graduated Cum Laude with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry from the University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State University – Pueblo). 

Dr. Romero is passionate about sports medicine and over the course of his training was involved with the care of teams and athletic programs including: the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA (MLS), US Soccer Mens National Team, Pepperdine University, Santa Monica City College, the Chicago Sky (WNBA) and the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames.  He also was a member of the medical staff for professional cycling's Tour of California.

Dr. Romero specializes in the arthroscopic treatment of athletic injuries and conditions of the shoulder, hip and knee.

Dr. Romero enjoys hunting, camping, snowboarding, weight training, billiards and golf.
