  • St. Thomas More Hospital offers diabetic education and nutrition counseling. These classes are especially important if you have been newly diagnosed with diabetes. Classes are covered by most insurances and Medicare/Medicaid.

  • Diabetes Support Group

    We offer a support group for people who have been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes, as well as their family members and caregivers.  This group provides support as you learn how to manage the disease and prevent complications.  We feature guest speakers to provide education on a variety of topics, such as nutrition and fitness specialists from St. Thomas More Hospital. 

    Comfortable Environment:

    • Share your experiences in a non-judgmental environment
    • Talk openly and honestly about your feelings
    • Make personal connections, find comfort in one another
    • Participate in open discussion related to diabetes issues you experience
    • Gain a sense of empowerment and control

    Discussion Topics:

    • Foot and eye care
    • How to have a successful appointment with your doctor
    • Improving coping skills and reducing stress; problem solving
    • Resources that work best for you to share with others
    • How to develop a clear understanding of diabetes
    • Resources that are available
